I want to sell out.
I want to just let go and have thirty assistants to take care of my stuff and just... You know, just do whatever the fuck I want to and get paid for it.
Well, OK, whatever the fuck the guys who are paying tell me I must do.
The term however still bugs me. I mean, people still care about their favourite artists selling out, while at the same time they want to get their garage band to sing to a label and just became indie enough to get media attention. I mean, as if the indie industry is not sold out already.
The only thing you will now get by signing your art to someone is just promotion and brown-nosing. You can reach every audience you can conceivably imagine by opening a myspace account and being good. Unless you're an architect, a sculptor or one of those painters that uses huge canvases. If you are one of those I guess you can sell out without feeling like a hypocrite.
And damn, I want to be a hypocrite and get paid for doing cool stuff that came easy to me, like Ro was going to do with Mark. Even if it meant working with my brother.
Feeling left out much, aren't we? Yeah.
